Positive and negative lists It is customary according to the ISO 9000 series to subject an enquiry first of all to a "Contract Review". In our case this means that we examine whether it is a regular customer (who is acquainted with our products) or whether it is a new customer. However, with a regular customer there may be the question as to whether new requirements may have occurred. We systematize the enquiry in the form of "object data", which, inter alia, serve statistical analysis for Marketing. In the contract review we have to refuse if our "positive list" of potential applications is not fulfilled or the potential customer is not in the target category which we can serve optimally. The same prospective client may become important at a later date. For this reason he is also classified according to a "negative list". After a year and a day we can then perform a field study as the basis for much more reliable marketing decisions. We regard this as built-in reliability due to careful contract review. |
