This was the title of an article which appeared in the FAZ on 08.04.98. The article described in detail how this natural material, like steel and aluminium, can be enhanced by means of additives. Indeed, I myself believe that we often do not need reaction polymers in many cases if only we would formulate and place the concrete properly. This was also the view which was made very plain by Adam Neville when he considered the question of "Concrete in the Year 2000". On the other hand we have over 20 papers with "Reaction Polymers" as their topic of discussion, in other words the issue of subsequent enhancement of concrete.
